Begin learningFoundational algebra
Signed numbers, inverse operations, and equations. Three substantial lessons with interactive demonstrations and an independent placement challenge.
01
Making sense of negative numbers
Use direction, distance, and opposites to calculate confidently on both sides of zero.
18 min · Open lesson 02Operations that undo each other
Understand a variable, follow a calculation, and undo it in reverse order.
20 min · Open lesson 03Keep the equation in balance
Solve two-step linear equations—and explain why each step preserves the solution.
